Pilaf rice
Perhaps this didn't even require a recipe, but I like to keep track of how much vegan butter I should use when I make this simple improvement of plain rice, called pilaf rice. By frying the rice in a little bit of fat before boiling, the whole dish becomes so much tastier!
Ingredients
- 275g white rice
- 12g vegan butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 480mL water
Instructions
- Wash, and drain the rice.
- Heat up vegan butter in a large pan over medium heat, and fry the rice until it becomes translucent.
- Add water, reduce heat, cover with a lid and let it cook through.
