Pilaf rice

Perhaps this didn't even require a recipe, but I like to keep track of how much vegan butter I should use when I make this simple improvement of plain rice, called pilaf rice. By frying the rice in a little bit of fat before boiling, the whole dish becomes so much tastier!

  • Ingredients

    • 275g white rice
    • 12g vegan butter
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 480mL water
  • Instructions

    1. Wash, and drain the rice.
    2. Heat up vegan butter in a large pan over medium heat, and fry the rice until it becomes translucent.
    3. Add water, reduce heat, cover with a lid and let it cook through.
