Ciabatta rolls

A delicious, crispy Italian bread that pairs very well with any soup or dip (e.g. taktouka, babaganoush, hummus, etc.).

  • Ingredients

    • 300g (strong) wheat flour
    • 1.5 tsp instant yeast
    • 180 mL warm water
    • 12g olive oil
    • 3/4 tsp salt
  • Instructions

    1. Mix flour with salt in a large bowl.

    2. In another bowl, mix olive oil, water, and yeast. Mix well and let the yeast activate for ~15 min.

    3. Mix everything together and knead until the dough feels elastic and separates easily from the fingers.

    4. Let dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.

    5. Punch the dough down and divide it into small balls.

    6. Place the balls next to each other in a rectangular greased oven dish.

    7. Turn on the oven at 180°C fan on. The ciabatta rolls will rise a little while the oven is heating up.

    8. Bake for ~15-20 min and let them cool down on a rack.

    9. Eerve with your favourite Mediterranean dishes!
